So why are medical bills rocketing so quickly? There are several factors. One of these
are third party payer systems. Here's how.
Insurance companies once per annum review the billing procedure for every
covered procedure. They then calculate what their payment will be for the upcoming year. It also means that,, all things being
equal they are paying last year's price for this year's service.
Medical providers are aware of this and thus each year
arbitrarily raise their prices. The more they raise 'em the more the insurance companies end up paying.
There is nothing
capping this process and the result is a never ending spiral upward of prices.TheEverready bunny takes over and it just keeps
going and going and going.....

In the news today is the fact that the United Arab Emirates stopped a North Korean vessel
heading for Iran. They found the ship located with illegal weaponry
First it's sad to see that a minor military power
like the U.A.E. is willing to face down North Korea while we sit on out thumbs and twirl.
Second there is a message here.
The fact is that the only country that wants Iran to hve Nukes is Iran. Hezbollah probably like the idea, but they aren't
a country. Palestine, if it has a brain, must realize that the fallout from any nuclear exchange between Iran and Israel would
result in the destruction of their country due to fallout. Can't be a good idea for them. Rest assured the Saudis, Qatar,
the U.A.E., etc, don't want Iran to dominate them either.
That the U.A.E. acted is a sure sign to me that we should
either take out Iran's nuclear facilities or get out of Israel's way.
Sure, there would be some rhetoric from various
nations, including perhaps some of those listed.
But behind that rhetoric a whole bunch of Arab and other leaders would
be breathing a sigh of relief. And in the end everyone would put their hands behind their backs, whistle a little tune and
walk away nonchalantly.
But we have an organizer in chief bent on during this into a fascist state while holding hands
and singing Kumbayah with the rest of the world. Someone who has shown complete disdain for Israel.
Also it was revealed
today the KSM squealed like a pig after CIA water boarding. Intensive interrogation techniques do indeed work. Obama, instead
of praising and supporting the CIA,, looks like he's going to investigate them. Even Obama's CIA chief Len Ponetta, is reportedly
outraged.
I'd have to double check but I don't think we even have harsh language left in our arsenal.

When it comes to rising medical
costs why not go to the source for most of these? The doctors,, medical groups and hospitals themselves. The amount they charge
for most everything is a made up fiction. Arbitrary and outrageous.
A case in point.
We just got a couple days ago
an Explanation Of Benefits for some tests run for my wife. The charges from the testing facility were $459.The insurance allowable,
which the provider agrees to accept as payment in full, was $170. That means the provider was overcharging
by ALMOST $300.
Bear in mind that medical providers incomes come almost entirely from third party payments.
So what
happens to the guy without insurance? He gets stuck with a charge for $459. So what happens if he gets an illness or accident
that sticks him with multiple bills from various providers? He now has multiple inflated bills that he can't pay swamping
him. The providers end up selling these bills to collection agencies FOR PENNIES ON THE DOLLAR. The collection
agency then hounds the patient who ends up forced into bankruptcy.
All over charges that were bloated to begin with.
The charges from medical providers are a made up fiction without rhyme or reason. They virtually never see that amount
paid. Insurance companies knock them down or the patient without insurance goes bankrupt. Only the poor schnook with some
bucks or dumb enough to pit to much on a charge card ends up paying "the full amount."
Now I do wish to be
very clear. Not all doctors are to blame. Thousand are salaried employees of medical groups and such. They have nothing to
do with pricing or billing. It's their employers.
Want to bring down medical costs? Start bringing public pressure on
medical providers to get real in their billing.

The key to defeating Obama
& Co, lies in educating people to the fact that he is a socialist/communist. The socialist have definitely hijacked
the Democratic party with money and deception. Simply attacking the guy may not prove to be enough. Education may prove
more vital.
It is especially important to educate the young. The dumbing down of our schools has been damaging to say
the least. Young are not being taught to think but to follow.
Others, older,, vote for the Dems without challenging
because it is what they have done. People buy into their labels and refuse to move. Habit and inertia.
We have to address
these things and get the Dems to clean up their own house. We have to undermine the subjugation of our youth.
In a very
real sense we need the Man From U.N.C.L.E. We are in many ways battling their old arch nemesis: Thrush. The Technological
Hierarchy for the Removal of Undesirables and Subjugation of Humanity.
ABC, which is seemingly in Obama's pocket, may
unwittingly be giving us a mythic weapon. They are remaking the old 80's mini-series "V" which was a science
fiction series with a powerful anti-totalitarian message. For it's time the original mini series was stunning. The previews
look promising to maintaining the theme. It debuts in November on Sunday nights and my be well worth talking up, especially
to liberals and independents.

missing a real opportunity. We have Obama bobble heads and such on the market yes, but they are missing a natural and fitting
collectable.

Case in point: Petrobras.
Petrobras if you aren't familiar with it, is
the Brazilian oil company. Last year it turned an $18 billion dollar profit. Obama just loaned it $2 billion for offshore
drilling. Off the coast of Brazil.
Yep, they made $18 billion and Obama is sending them $2 billion of your tax dollars.
We're not drilling off our own shore.
We aren't building hybrid reactors.
We aren't pursuing mini nuclear
reactors.
We aren't pursuing fusion.
We haven't even pursued Obama's windmills.
But for Petrobras we have $2
billion dollars?
How can this be?
Oh,, wait. The biggest investor in Petrobras is George Soros. Soros, alleged,
Nazi sympathizer and person funding the multiple attacks on America from the far left.

First let me mention blog
entries for the next couple weeks will be as I am able. I have a writing assignment to complete and my time will be limited.
I do expect to post new jokes each day on twitter do drop by for the twitter feed and follow me there.
His
Obaminess has been pleading with the churches to support his Healthmare plan. The argument seems to go: you are suppose to
help the sick, I have a healthmare plan, ergo you must support my plan.
The logical fallacies here are legion.
Underlying
is this seems to be a fundamental assumption that supplying health care is the highest morality.
Untrue.
From a
religious standpoint the highest morality is too bring people to god. The soul is what is important not the body. Help the
sick? Sure. Go through a convoluted, controlling and expensive program to provide "insurance" is something completely
different and not at all moral.
On a secular level each of us has a higher moral calling. That is to preserve our
freedoms. An Obama healthmare plan, with the legislative initiatives creating massive loosely defined intrusive structures
to be filled in later by the executive branch is scarier than Freddy Krueger in my closet.
On a personal level my highest
moral duty, and yours, is to the family. Our first duty is to provide for our families both now and in the future. Only when
this obligation is met is one in a position to turn one's aid financially to others. Until then aid can be given in other
ways. The donation of time or unneeded good for example. An Obama led walletectomy. that attacks our abilities to provide
for our family is clearly immoral. You can't really help one person by hurting another. That's not a moral choice.
Lastly
there is the inherent assumption that this plan will actually help somebody. Somewhere. Sometime. You can't provide infinite
benefits without infinite resources. Resources are not infinite. Therefore there will shortages. Compound that with the fact
that billions collected won't actually go to healthmare but to supporting another bloated group of government agencies.
Government agencies don't exactly do a laying on of hands.
The attempts to get the religious groups behind him
are yet another example of Obama's self serving illogic. People who have no insurance and aren't sick have no immediate
need of health services. When people do get sick there are so many alternative ways to provide assistance. His Obaminess isn't
really seeking to help people. It is, when you look at even just the general thrust, about power and control. Of you
and your life.

of us really need to know what's in the health care bill?

Credit Card Bill

So now the new credit
card laws are in effect.
The problem is that the main thing that needed addressed wasn't. We need a national usury law.
Currently credit card companies locate their operations in the states with the highest interest rate limit. The consumer then
must sign an agreement to be bound by the usury rate in that state. Thus the usury laws in the consumer's state is circumvented..
This has been before the Supremes and deemed legal.
With congress loving to regulate everything under the sun I can
only assume the banking lobby got to a few people to allow this travesty to go on.
Another problem is the
lag time between passage of the law and it's effective date. There are limitations on rate hikes and their procedures in the
new law. The lag time gave the credit card issuers plenty of time to raise rates and minimum payments just because they could.
Bad, bad, bad.
These hikes seem like a good way for these companies to shoot themselves in the foot while ruining lives.
Consider: people who aren't paying off their cards are probably just getting by. Raising interest rates and payments will
drive an unknown number into default. People go into bankruptcy the bank loses. With credit card defaults running over double
what they normally are this seems like a bad idea to me.

I warned the
other day the Communist way is two steps forward and one step back. Government run co-ops are mo different. These need to
be opposed.
The fact is that co-ops already exist. They are called mutual insurance companies. In a mutual the
policyholders own the company. They collect dividends on company profits and vote on companies actions and policies.
If want to join a co-op buy your insurance from a mutual company.
In the meantime government co-ops look from here like
a method of advancing the Communist cause while appearing to negotiate.

I've been reflecting some
on a national, i.e. socialized, health care system. Looking at this type of thing it lacks a basic fundamental.
Love.
Consider. You can't have universal coverage and unlimited benefits without infinite resources. Thus rationing and the subsequent
transpiring of a demeaning of the person develop. In England if you are elderly and keeping you alive runs over 22k a year
you need buy no green bananas. As resources diminish long waits develop for testing and treatments. Look at the VA here at
home where waits can run six months for routine tests. In the Netherlands babies can be killed until the age of two. Germany
has suicide counseling for the elderly.
Resources dry up. The powers that be start skimping and ordering
less equipment. Furthermore in other countries the equipment is not centralized and patients may find themselves having
to go mile between facilities for different treatments. Happened to a friend of mine’s uncle in Canada. Innovation dies
as the government spends less and companies no longer develop new technologies and treatments. Pay for professionals
dwindles. Doctors become scarce as they leave the profession and fewer people enter the field, fueling more shortages.
Deceit comes into play as the powers that be feed lies and disinformation to the people. In Europe web pages from American
biotech firms are routinely blocked. These are the pages on new and oft expensive, medicines. The European government doesn’t
want the people to know about them They don’t want demands to spend the money. Better the subjects should die than cost
the State.
Needless deaths rise as treatments are denied. Murder by neglect is simply murder with a different weapon.
No guns needed. Medicines don’t kill people. People that deny medicines kill people. The people get reduced to an economic
plaything, not a person at all.
hen there is the heartlessness toward the family. I can only imagine the pain when families
are told their elders simply aren’t worth saving. The love of family is as nothing. Only the benefit to the State
matters.
Perhaps the worst hypocrisy is this: Those who criticize the free market system do so because it is money driven.
Yet ultimately the socialist medical systems are driven by money, the monetary value of the life to the State. In the free
market system money and it’s freedom to flow fuel new methodologies that prolong more lives. More are ultimately helped.
In the socialist system money becomes a resource to be hoarded and measured out sparingly, ultimately killing more people.
It heartlessly serves itself.

I don't think you realize it but those of us who are fighting against Obama's policies are on your side. We are fighting

Tort Reform
Another area of expense to the medical system are lawsuits.
Silly suits that insurance companies pay off rather than risk a bigger trial. Nonsense suits that should never be brought
in the first place. Settlements that are far to high. And of course perfectly legitimate suits that should be brought.
The usual solution proposed is to cap settlements. Sorry, I don't agree. If a suit has value that true value should be realized,
plus attorney's fees.
A better solution is to attack the definition of malpractice and to filter out garbage suits early.
Malpractice actually occurs when a doctor's level of care falls below industry minimum standards. If care meets those standards
no malpractice has occurred. It is action based, not outcome based. In reality there is no clear cut definition of an industry
standard set for practices for many items. The result is a free for all in the legal system. This results in awards that should
never be made, insurance companies sometimes settling nuisance suits and awards that are too high.
What is needed are
clear cut guidelines from the AMA on minimal actions to be taken with various symptoms. If the minimum tests/procedures
are performed properly no malpractice has occurred. Similarly a listed of expected outcomes for various procedures could be
developed If a scar may occur and does occur, for example, this is to be expected and there is no malpractice.
The basic
principal should always be when risks are known and explained and a patient proceeds if a known risk transpires there can
be no malpractice. This is consistent with a legal principal called assumption of risk.
While a judge can dismiss a suit
as frivolous out of hand many silly suits still get into the system. I would be in favor of some kind of prereview board
Before filling a lawsuit an attorney would hve to submit basic case to a panel consisting, perhaps, of a doctor a judge and
another attorney for review. If the panel says no merit, then no case cam be brought. Firm definitions and tighter procedures
are the better way for tort reform.

Bankruptcy
One of the criticisms of our health care system is that thousands
of people each year with too little or no insurance get driven into bankruptcy. This is a legitimate concern and the problem
stems from the fact that paying debts is entirely a zero-sum game. You pay the bills or you go bankrupt.
The solution
is not to go to some expensive, intrusive, controlling nationalized health care system. The right way is to change the rules
of the game.
Medical Relief Court.
Here's a new idea. A limited bankruptcy court. A debtor with overwhelming
bills would be able to submit those bills and financial information to this court. The Medical Relief court would have the
ability to reduce those bills or discharge them completely. The forms could be kept simple with no lawyer needed unless desired.
This court would deal exclusively with medical related charges. no other debt or credit facility would be involved.
As
an adjunct I would also not permit the dismissal of these charges into the debtor's credit history. In fact I wouldn't let
medical related debts into credit histories period. Why? Because often these expenses are incurred by sudden catastrophic
accidents or unexpected illnesses, such as a heart attack. They really have nothing to do with the general honesty or
credit history of a person. 'Fate dumped on them, that's all. Our billing, collection and credit reporting procedures as they
now stand simply add insult to injury.
This limited form of bankruptcy is much fairer. It allows the debtor to get out
from under an obligation they cannot pay, which would happen in a pure bankruptcy, without destroying their lives or damaging
any other creditor owed money.

Free Clinics.
Something goes unmentioned in this health care debate.
There are a number of free clinics including one here in Cleveland, that provide health care services to the uninsured at
no charge. I've used the one in Cleveland myself when I was young and uninsured. They are manned by volunteer doctors
and medical personnel, humanitarians we heartily cheer. They are funded by private donations, not government money. last year
these clinics treated 8 million people. The high estimate is 48 million uninsured. So 1 in 6 took advantage of these clinics.
Now I don't know about you but I get sick enough to see a doctor every 4-5 years. Seems like the clinics might be handling
a high, though unquantified, percentage of sick uninsured already.
So why not try the following:
1. Step up
the development of free clinics. including fundraising efforts. Worked for autism awareness and research.
2. Increase
community awareness of such clinics allowing them to bring more care to more people.
3.Require pro bono work by
the medical profession.
We require pro bono work of lawyers for the good of the community. Why not
doctors, nurses and such? One day a month of donated service as a requirement for licensing. This would assure
a supply of volunteers for the clinics.
4. Such clinics could be exempted from malpractice
suits by modifying the "good Samaritan" laws that protect passers by that try and assist hurt or sick
people in sudden emergencies.
What about accidents and such? Well, pro bono can be applied to hospitals
and such as well. Say on a percentage of billing basis.
What about end of life services? Most medical expenses
are racked up in the last 6 months of life. Under nationalized health care "end of life" counseling would encourage
suicide avoiding these expenses anyways.
Fundraising foundations to support these clinics could also be set up.
I'd donate to an efficient charity.
This strikes me as more efficient, more practical and far less onerous than
any government program that is on the table.

The Threat Untold.
There is a hidden threat in the Obamacare bill that isn't
much talked about. It will set up something like 44 new government entities and allow the executive branch to implement
things through regulatory fiat. Much of the various bills being bandied about create structure, not substance. The substance
will end up coming from the regulations later devised and implemented
In discussing this bill it allows our misrepresentatives
to honestly say "That's not in there." They leave out the word yet.
Once this bill is in place the executive
branch will be able to beat up on 17% however it pleases. This makes the bill too dangerous for me. Such power should not
ever be placed in the hands of the president.I son't care if it's Obama or a republican. It will eventually be misused.
This is more than anything else is why it must be stopped.

The Time Is Now.
The time for his Obaminess to speak is now. The DNC
or somebody is shipping thugs from ACORN and the SEIFU to town hall meetings. A first act of violence occurred when the hired
help attacked a black conservative in St. Louis. He was distributing "Don't Tread On Me" stickers and such. Interestingly
these thugs, liberals on the left who delight in calling others racist, showed no reluctance to use racial epithets of their
own.
Disgusting.
And the risk is that more violence will erupt. Violence in the name of Obama.
If he
doesn't want that he needs to speak out now. The best time to slay a dragon is before it hatches. He claims to be a leader.
So lead. Get out and denounce violence on his behalf. Tell his followers that any who commit violence in his name are not
really his followers at all.
This is how things started in Nazi Germany. The time to end it is now.
On a related
note 1500 people questioning the health care proposals were locked out of a town hallin Tampa Florida. I guess the right to
free speech doesn't include a right to be heard.

They are at it again. Nancy Pelosi just accused those opposing health care of being Nazis. Now there is a case of
the witch's cauldron calling the kettle black.
As I pointed out in my earliest blog Nazi stands for National Socialist
and is a left wing political movement. This is a blatant attempt at misdirection by someone who acts like she herself should
be wearing a swastika.
Leftist thugs are being bussed to town hall meetings and protesters are being shut out.
And
today Obama sent 2.5 billion in stimulus money to a Korean company for advanced battery green jobs. in Korea.
Huh?
I thought we were the ones closing in on a ten per cent unemployment rate. $2.5 billion comes to works out to 5000
jobs at 50k a year.
Which also leads me to wonder about 25 billion that was promised to the American car companies to
develop an electric car. That was separate from the bailout money we sent them. I'm curious because Nissan just came out with
the Leaf, an all electric car. So what happened to our 25 billion? Anyone know? Nissan didn't seem to need it. Funny how the
free market works.....

taxing small businesses etc, all to pay for watered down coverage through a bloated, expanded and expensive government bureaucracy.
Instead of holding his feet to the fire the liberal left including the news media will give us excuses as to why it's
okay to lie and rip money out of peoples' pockets. We should see the same castigation Bush the first saw over "read
my lips"
In the meantime I have a simple question: Why can't we give these guys lie detector tests when they run
for office? True answers to some straight yes or no questions would be a pleasant change.

The Difference.
There is a difference between the promise of the Constitution
and what the socialists want in Washington. The Constitution was about delimiting government and protecting individuals
from society. The socialists are about creating a society and protecting it from the individual. And the way to do that is
to cram the individual into the society. The methods include lies, deceit, massive government, even running the country into
the ground financially. The last doesn't matter because it's the power, not the money, that is important No matter how
bad things get for the cogs, er the individuals those in power will still manage to have the best of everything. They are
after all our fearless guides into all we should do and don't they deserve it by gum.
Of course these
socialists are lying to you. They believe their ends ultimately justifies any means. Lenin wrote it. It's perfectly acceptable
to lie for the sake of the cause. The Koran says the same thing about furthering the advance of Islam It's always that
way with systems that value the system itself.
Believe the lies and the promise of the Constitution
will wither and we'll all find ourselves on Uncle Barack's plantation.

Again Fusion
Here I am the only one tooting this horn yet again
His Obaminess wants to go green by wrecking the landscape with inefficient windmills and solar panels. Yuck.
Fusion is
the way of the future. Clean and a small ecological footprint. The National Ignition Facility in California is scheduled to
fire the first controlled energy positive fusion reaction. In Europe a prototype fusion plant Project Iter is under construction
an scheduled for a 2016 firing date.
Part of the problem in theory, with fusion power is that it would require very
expensive high powered lasers and magnets.
But a new player has now entered the game. General Fusion,, a start up has
plans to develop fusion using a sonic technology to generate the heat necessary to fire up a fusion reaction. This may seem
a bit far fetched but it's not. The sun's atmosphere heats up to millions of degrees due to acoustic energy from the star's
volatile eruptions and such. The actual surface temperature of the sun is actually only 10,000 degrees or so.
They hope
to have a successful test within 5 years and a 125,000 watt prototype plant in 10 years.
Wouldn't you rather see your
money spent on this than on windmills and mirrors?
